Dr. Huisheng Xie is the only traditional medicine Veterinarian from China in the United States and he is an alternative medicine reviewer for the National Institute of Health. Dr. Xie¹s extensive background of research and work with Chinese medicine provides another valuable knowledge resource to the Institute. He was a professor in Chinese herbal medicine at one of China¹s five traditional Chinese medicine veterinary colleges. Dr. Xie is the author of the standard English reference book on the use of Chinese herbs, one of eight published books he has written. Dr. Xie enjoys membership in nine professional societies including the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society, Chinese Society of Scientific Authors, and the Chinese Society of Chronobiology and Chronomedicine. Included among his numerous honors and recognitions are the Annual University Excellent Researcher award from Beijing University and honorary recognition from the Department of Veterinary Medicine - University of Japan.
