This
CD contains two lectures.
In
her lecture on Fibromyalgia, Dr. Scanlan discusses
why some animals' natural detoxification systems become compromised
and what can be done to bring them back to a state of balance
and good health.
In Treating Liver Diseases, Dr. Allen Schoen provides
a comprehensive discussion for using herbs and nutraceuticals
to treat specific liver diseases such as hepatitis, copper-associated
hepatopathy, hepatic lipidosis and others. For each disease,
he outlines the primary mechanism of actions and the therapeutic
rational for using the products he suggests.
Dr.
Nancy Scanlan has practiced veterinary medicine since
1970 and is currently using 100% holistic methods in her treatment of animals. She specializes in nutritional
and traditional Chinese herbal medicine, acupuncture and trigger
point therapies. While her approach is holistic, she believes
that the best animal care is often complementary -- combining
the best of conventional and holistic methods. Dr. Scanlan
has been a featured speaker at many professional meetings
and has written numerous books on holistic approaches to animal
healing.
Dr.
Allen Schoen is one of the pioneers of holistic veterinary
medicine and has dedicated his career to developing
and advancing natural therapies for animal healing. He is certified in both veterinary acupuncture and veterinary
chiropractic with extensive advanced training in botanical
medicine and homeopathy. Dr. Schoen is the recipient of many
research grants and received the Marty Simensen Award for
his contributions to equine medicine and welfare. He lectures
throughout the world on complementary and alternative veterinary
medicine and is the author of several books, including Kindred
Spirits.
